Proud to Be Part of Padgate
The Station House has been welcoming visitors for generations and is proud to be part of the Padgate community. More than just a pub, it’s a building with a rich history that has played an important role in the local area for many years.
Situated in Padgate, Warrington, The Station House occupies a prominent position next to Padgate Railway Station. During the Second World War, the railway line was a vital transport route, and the pub became a familiar meeting place for local residents, railway workers and service personnel travelling through the area. Like many traditional British pubs of the time, it offered a place of comfort, friendship and community during some of the country’s most challenging years.
Today, while much has changed, that same welcoming spirit remains at the heart of everything we do. Conveniently located in Padgate, we’re easily accessible whether you’re visiting from Warrington town centre or nearby areas including Fearnhead, Birchwood, Great Sankey, Woolston, Culcheth and Lymm.

What is the pink container?
If you’ve visited The Station House, you’ve probably noticed the bright pink container in our car park. Here’s the story behind it.
It all began in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic changed life for everyone. While the country was in lockdown and our pub doors had to close, our community came together to help those who needed it most.
The idea started with a conversation between Wes Nolan from Rylands Rugby Club and local councillor Sue Emery, who wanted to establish a food bank for people in the Poulton-with-Fearnhead and Padgate area who had fallen on difficult times.
Within just a week, The Station House had been transformed into the home of the Poulton-with-Fearnhead Parish Council Food Bank. The project grew so quickly that it was even recognised in Parliament by our local MP.
As the pub reopened, the food bank moved to a small cabin in our car park. Demand continued to grow, leading to the addition of a storage container and, eventually, the now-famous 40-foot pink container that stands here today. When funding became available to purchase the adapted container, Sue insisted it should be painted pink—and we’re so glad she did. It’s become a much-loved local landmark.
Today, the food bank continues to support individuals and families across our community. Thanks to an incredible team of dedicated volunteers, it operates every Wednesday and Friday from 10:00am to 1:00pm, whatever the weather.

Our Clubs
The Station House is proud to be at the heart of the local community, providing a welcoming space where people can come together to socialise, relax and enjoy great food and drink.
Throughout the week, we’re home to a variety of local clubs and groups. Every Wednesday, we welcome The Church Collective and Wine and the Way, offering a friendly place for people to meet, connect and enjoy good conversation.
If you enjoy a little friendly competition, our Station House Pool Team plays every Wednesday, while our darts teams compete on Monday, Tuesday and Friday evenings throughout the winter season in various Warrington leagues.
